Surprisingly, I've run 9 on a K6/2 400 and it ran acceptably well
(provided you tune VM).  I'd still recommend something faster though =)

You simply can't buy a new hard disk these days that's too small (unless
you hoard mp3's and porn <guilty/>)

Recommended for actual use: 512MB.  Given the price of RAM these days,
that's acceptable (I paid $49.99 for the 512MB DDR in my system).
