Dear Te-Cheng,
Today the power was
turned off suddenly in my lab. My Linux (Redhat 7.2) PC can't start up after
that. It stops at the following messages.
......
Kmod: Failed to exec
/sbin/modprobe -s -k block-major-3, error=2
mount error 6
mounting ext 2
privotroot:
privot-root (/sysroot, /sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
Freeing unused
kernel memory: 280k freed
kernael panic: No
init found. Trying passing init= option to kernel
Meanwhile, the
lights, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock, on the keyboard, keep
blinking.
What can I do for
survive the PC? I have a lot of data on it.
Can I start the PC
with a Linuc CD and then do recovery? Is it feasible and
safe?
Thanks a
lot!
