hi all: newbie in linux and loads of questions.
i installed RH 8.0 and noticed that i can use gui to start or restart some services. Looked at /etc/rc.d/init.d and saw a lot of executable files. my question are: under solaris /etc/rcX.d, files start with "S" will be loaded automatically whne the system starts. so if i don't want some daemons start, i just change those "S" to "s". what about RH? could do something similar instead of relying on GUI? thanks _dave http://mobile.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo!
