Oh, I forgot one thing. I was going to mention it before, but I had to
check to make sure I was right. You should also have "prompt" at the start
of the lilo.conf file. This causes lilo to display an input prompt for the
label name. If you don't have this, and you don't have a timeout, then you
will not be able to boot your linux partition if another OS is the default.
If you do have a timeout, then this doesn't matter because you can press tab
to see a list of labels and the prompt.
In your case though, you should have the prompt anyhow because then your
brother can just press enter to boot the defaul OS.
