Hello list,
Is ACPI enabled in the stock kernel? acpid is running but i dont see /proc/acpi. Any other advice on getting to soft-off my machine? Thanks.
It is NOT but is easy to compile in. According to the Kernel docs, you cannot run both ACPI and APM. If both are compiled in, whichever shall first load - runs.
When I say that it's easy - we compiled ACPI into 2.4.21 on some desktops and solved some poweroff problems. I have NOT tried in on a laptop but probably should.
