NO. This happens only with the NE2000-compatible (Compex EN2000-PCI) card. 
Any other network card does not give this behavior. This is my first usage
of Linux with a PCI network card. This message of 'loading eth1' happens
also with NE2000 on ISA bus. AT1500 on ISA does not show this message (it
is not a module). 3com 3C503 installed on ISA and loaded as a module does
not result in this message appear. I confirmed that there is no ifcfg-eth1
in /etc/sysconfig/netwrok-scripts directory.

Any other ideas ?
