Does anyone offhand know a good doc. that describes the history of UNIX
and/or Linux in a brief, but positive way? (I'm looking for exact dates,
important people, that sorta thing...)

Thanks... BTW keep your eye out for a new Linux page coming out that is made
for new users, and people who want to do what they can do next with Linux...
Myself and a team are working on it, and in my opinion it's looking great :)
