Hiya. I'm doing some consulting work for a company whose server I built, but am no longer directly maintaining. When I boot this RedHat 4.1 server, it runs the usual boot routine and then, when trying to mount root, produces the error message "Unable to initialize additional console" and freezes. I know I've seen this error someplace in a piece of documentation, but I can't seem to find any info on it, and wondered if anyone had any ideas. It's a P100 with 48 megs of RAM, and has hitherto been solid as a rock; the only configuration change that seems to have been made is a change of network numbers from one network to the other. It seems to have spontaneously rebooted itself last night and not been able to come up this morning; the network config change was working fine last night. Thanks in advance! --Joseph Purvis Joseph Purvis ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) There's no time like the present. But a couple of minutes ago probably bore a *striking* similarity. --Lev L.
