I might be wrong on this but...

I tried installing System Commander on my system with just NT on it and 
SC totally bombed.  I get the impression SC is actually a 16-bit DOS 
application.  Anyhow I rebuilt my computer with Win9$ on the drive 
first, then SC, then WinNT.  Now it works just fine.  Next on my agenda: 
installing RH5.

Assume you are going to have just NT and RH5 (or whatever dist you may 
have) on your computer.  My advice is to have that drive repartitioned 
so you'd have a small (~20MB) DOS partition for SC to live in.  
Otherwise SC WILL NOT WORK.

I think it's a safe bet you can have LILO living on your Linux 
partition, not necessarily the MBR if you get SC running.
