Hello, We've two servers, the first one is the primary dns server and the
second one is the secondary. Both servers are web servers too, both with the
same information and my question is: how can i configure them to have load
balancing? Are there any way to configure dns service for use the first or
the second web server in function of the servers load?
Thanks

Yes. I think you have two options. Smart DNS or Virtual Server.

Smart DNS.

Comes in two flavors. Proprietary and Open-Source. Or Expensive and Free. :)

Check out the Eddie Project (http://eddie.sourceforge.net/).

If you need proprietary...check out Cisco DistributedDirector or BigIP's ServerIron.

Virtual Server.

Again, Proprietary and Open Source.

Check out the Linux Virtual Server Project (http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/). There are number of options, I'm currently testing UltraMonkey (http://ultramonkey.sourceforge.net -- *empty at the moment, do not know why*).

Because you are on two boxes, running separate services--DNS + WWW--it will take some creative thinking (like imagining the you have four boxes) but LVS should be "doable".

If you need proprietary...check out Cisco LocalDirector or BigIP's ServerIron, there are many others that do this too.

Tim
