I prefer swat to webmin and although samba is installed I can't find a service entry for swat as in "chkconfig --level 5 swat on". Why is this , or am I missing something?
I've seen the xinet method of adding it with:
Usually when swat is installed via RPM, it is installed via xinetd, then you just do "chkconfig swat on". I have no idea what other installs, such as from source, may do with the swat stuff.
But was wondering why it's not just a standard service.
Probably... guessing here... because it's a very low-use thing and no reason to have it consume resources when not needed. Better to have it called by xinetd when necessary.
