Folks,
Just curious if anyone out there knows of anyone who has or is
developing a Linux driver for Compaq's SMART2 Array Controller.
I've got an available Proliant server (in betwixt removing SCO 3.2 and
installing SCO 5.0.4) and I'd like to load up Linux on it.
I know that the rest of the hardware works (well, the network card is
questionable, but I can always drop in a 3COM) and if I can get the
SMART2 running I can run Linux side-by-side with NT and SCO on (almost)
identical hardware to squelch some of the talk around here that Linux
can't compete with these platforms (I managed the NT servers for 2
years, I've managed the SCO for about 5 months, I've run Linux for 3
years ... trust me, I'll pit my 486 web server against my dual pentium
NT server for Internet services any day!).
Anyway, not to sound like a zealot or anything ;^), but it would be a
very interesting experiment.
Thanks for any pointers on this.
  Don
