: Has anyone had this trouble with this type of video card? If so, did you
: resolve it, and how?
OH YES, I have had problems with this card. Trident, though a PC industry
"generic" has never really been fully supported in linux, mostly because,
well, though it is generic, it's not all that popular. Anyway, don't use
the 9660 settings or the 8900 - they won't work properly. I know this is
going to sound odd: and, not to diss such a fine product, but do you have
MetroX installed? Honestly, I find that all of my Xwin issues are
miraculously resolved when MetroX is not on my machine.
If that doesn't reap immediate results, more pertinent info about your
situation is necessary: what *is* happening? Are you getting past xinit?
Are you seeing a sloppy, jumbled GUI? Can you get that far, or is X just
not in the mood to let you there? Where does X say "no!"?
I recently purchased a new video card - otherwise, I'd send you my
XF86Config..... and I don't think I have one archived....but I'll look if
the above doesn't help.....
