  I won't suggest that it's just you, but I've been running WD drives for
several years now without a failure. In about 14 years of microcomputer
use/ownership I've had three drives fail: a Seagate ST-225 (the original
21M drive), a 70M drive which came originally from DEC and the one in my
notebook. I've used Maxtor and WD for the past 5 years (at least) and
they're still running. My new workstation (a PII/233) has 3 WD drives.

  Your milage obviuosly varied.  <g>
