Note that to get syntax highlighting in vim you need to specifically
use the "vim", "gvim", etc. incantations, not "vi".  Then just issue
the command "syntax on" and you should be good to go.


Another good candidate (which is also a pretty good IDE) is to use
Code Crusader & Code Medic (both open source).
