Thanks to all for help in getting printing going under 6.1 The security
fix at Red Hat did the trick. Now, a related question.

I've tried now for months to get RH to detect my second parallel port, with
no success. This is a dual boot machine with W98. LPT2/lp1 lives at IRQ
5, io 0x278, LPT1/lp0 lives at 0x778, IRQ 7. I recently came across info
on parport at http://www.cyberelk.demon.co.uk/parport/parport.txt
Based on this document, I thought I could force parport detection by
passing an argument at boot time. I tried the following at boot:
linux parport=0x778,7 parport=0x278,5 The results are same as ever. lp0
is detected just fine, but no lp1. FWIW, lp2 is a SIIG CyperParallel Dual
PCI Board. It runs fine under W98 as configured. It has a proper
bi-directional parallel cable attached to it.

Thanks for any thoughts.

John
