Playing it safe? I tweak for the sake of tweaking, being a curious
sort. To be honest, I don't think there's all that much to be gained
form optimising the kernel for a specific CPU. Don't have any good
way to measure the difference... 

Speeding up disk access seems more important, and maybe also
optimising the X stuff which is slow.
