Then the libc5 version was the wrong choice. I thought since you were
using the libc5 version, you're stuck with some old linux version.

XFree86 3.3.5 contains support for various NeoMagic chipsets (works
without problems on my notebook in 1024x768x24).

If you're having problems and they're not related to configuration, you
might want to try the glibc version of the XFCom driver, but I doubt it'll
help.
