I had the same problem with an ne2000 compatible card when I ran an
out-of-the-box Redhat 6.0 intallation. If you are using redhat 6.0 or
earlier you might want to download the new boot images (boot.img, supp.img,
modules.img) from updates.redhat.com

Three disk are needed for boot.img, modules.img, and supp.img. If you are
doing a network install you will need bootnet.img rather than boot.img. Copy
the three images to 1.44 MB floppy disks by doing the following:

In linux: dd if=file.img of=/dev/fd0 bs=72k. (replace file.img with
boot.img, supp.img, or modules.img)

or

In Dos/Windows use the rawrite.exe utility found in the dosutils directory
of your Redhat Linux CD. This is proabably the easiest.

Once you have created the disks boot the computer with the newly created
installation disk (boot.img) then at the boot prompt type "linux supp". This
will load changes from the modules and supplemental disks and you will be
asked to insert these disks during the installation process.

Im pretty sure, the installation will detect your ne2000 compatible card.

Let me know if it works.

Subject: Nic card

I just changed the configuration on my net, and went from BNC like net to a
RJ-45 net.

The problem is that I have a NE-2000 card that doesn't work. In my point of
view it looks like it's not an autodetect card (so it can see which combo to
use).

Any help????
