Promise has a driver out now. You don't need to patch if you have
a promise, just download the new driver.

The IDE patch works great. Im using Kernel 2.2.13 patched with a
SIIG
ATA33 and a Promise ATA-66 with the on board controller. All
works
smoothly. As i recall there is a selection for HTP.
