That doesn't work for RH6.1, I ran xf86config, that seems to do the trick, 
thanks everyone.
One more question -- if all I want to do is reconfigure the resolution, is 
there a way to do it without having to run through the whole xf86config 
program? cause I don't need to reconfigure the mouse or keyboard etc... just 
the resolution. ??
