No, that's not correct. Not with Solaris 7 at least. I've got it running on a system here that dual boots into Win98. %-> I can't quite remeber, but I think that solaris wants a whole disk to %-> itself. I wasn't able to get solaris to install with another operating %-> system on the disk, but that was a while ago, and I probably did %-> something wrong.
