I create my own bookmark file using simple html and point home to it.  
(Edit -> Preference -> Navigator : click on Browser starts with Home Page
and put /home/username/my_bookmark.html in the Location window).

I also threw away everything in the Personal Toolbar Folder and put titles
to point to local files on it. The local files are also html files, one
listing my favorite linux websites, another security sites, etc. Makes it
easy to organise the ever growing number of sites I want to visit.
