I wrote a little perl script to extract and log /dev/ttyCx info based on the pppX
interface. However, it takes to long. I was trying to find a quicker way. I
have found that most of the info comes from "netstat" (eg "netstat -i") which
responds much quicker. Now I just need to know how to translate the Tx/Rx
Packets into Octets.

Anyone know how to translate packets to octets?
