        What are you trying to accomplish?

        If I were to just take a WAG (Wild Ass Guess) based on insufficient
information, I would guess that you could use rsync with ssh to do what
you are trying to do.  We use that for mirroring sites and directories
where rsync and ssh are both available at each end.  It's orders of
magnitude faster than rdist and would probably run rings around mirror
as well.  I suspect that anywhere you might think you could use ssh
or scp with mirror that rsync with ssh would be also work and would
be a better choice.  The only place where it would not work would be
a situation where rsync was not available on one end and could not be
installed on that end due to lack of access/control.
