Hi. These problems didn't exist in RHL 4.2 and 5.2, but when I upgraded my 166 MHz Pentium to 6.1, I discovered some problems I can't figure out. Upgrading to 6.2 didn't fix these problems. 1. When the kernel is booting, there will sometimes be a long pause after displaying the drive description for hda. After the pause, it continues with hdb, and so on until the login prompt is displayed. 2. In runlevel 3, and after starting X Window, if I ever idle long enough so that the screensaver comes on, and then half an hour passes with the screensaver on the screen, the screensaver isn't moving, and Linux time, as displayed by the date command, will be seven or eight hours behind the real time. The clock command does display the correct time. If I then run "hwclock --hctosys", both date and clock will display the correct time. What's bizzare is that immediately after I run the hwclock command, the screensaver will start again. Note that I only idle for about a couple of hours max. Any suggestions as to the cause of these problems? --- Barnett Hsu Voicemail: (714) 989-3100 x 1461 E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web: http://bhworld.cjb.net/ PGP Public Key at http://ucrbhsu.tripod.com/bio/pgp.html -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
