It may be easier to slowly eliminate the things you know you don't need,
rather than to try to guess which ones you do need. As a matter of
course, I remove startup support for pcmcia, apmd, gpm, and generally
sendmail (since we have a hub based topology). I have found that the
other services are generally options during the install and I can pick
and choose at that point.
