I've never seen a sendmail that bounces unknowns to postmaster by default.
That sounds like a recipe for a DoS attack on the postmaster ;-)

The default, and IMHO correct, behavior is a 550 failure. The mail is not
even accepted. That's what happening here. The problem is that it
terminates his fetchmail session.
