On a machine I setup as a Linux/samba server, the following message
pops up when printing to the computer connected to it from one of the
Windows clients:

parport0: detected irq 7; use proc fs ...

The printing works fine, but it would be nice to get rid of the
message.

One time when I looked in /proc/parport/0/irq or something like that
existed and it contained "none" (w/o quotes). I tried echoing 7 into
it and it stayed there, but I don't think the message stopped.

Next time I checked (after a reboot) the file didn't exist.

On another Linux box /proc/parport/0/ exists and also contains none
and I've never seen the message (although it's a different printer and
I'm usually logged into X).

I didn't see anything in "man proc" about parport.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Dave
