Thanks for your 2 emails and advice. I did try with redhat boot and rescue
disks,
including booting from redhat CD to fdisk but without a solution reached.
The screen hanged after the boot/rescue disk or CD started, disallowing me
to proceed further. I don't know the cause of this incident. Your advice
worked in previous cases but not in this one. Thanks
