I am trying to understand better how Linuxconf, when defining groups under
User Configuration, sets Creation permissions. If a and b are part of the
group users, I want a and b to both be able to write to files created by
the other. Right now, when either a or b create a file, the permissions
are read-write for the owner, and read only for the group and other. So I
went into Linuxconf->User Accounts->Group definitions, selected a Group
and then selected Directories->Creation Permissions. I am assuming that
this means that anyone in this group creating a file will create it with
the Creation Permissions defined here in Linuxconf. I changed the
permissions from the default 700 to 770. Yet when I create a file as a
user in that group it still creates it as 644 file, even though Creation
Permissions were originally set at 700 and now 770. What am I missing
here? Any help appreciated.

Linux version 2.2.14-6.1.1smp and linuxconf-1.17r2.
