I use Pine 3.96 because 4.x (along with things like Netscape Mail) put a
dummy message in the mail file (for formatting purposes, etc). This in
turn screws up the mail command and everything that relies on it because
the mail command always says I have at least one new message.

I was wondering how people find their way around this (since Pine 4.x
comes with newer RH distros and the mail command doesn't seem to be
compatable with it in terms on that dummy message's presence). I know that
on FreeBSD machines (or at least the one my friend has) this isn't the
case.

Can someone help me out with this? Thanks :)
