Greetings everyone. I wrote quite a while back concerning a problem I
was having with a new motherboard/cpu I purchased. It is the Redfox
Motherboard with the ALI chipset. When I try to install Linux it will
boot the kernel and start through the initiazation. But when it comes
to the ide it hangs. Here is the output

PCI_IDE: unknown IDE controller on PCI bus 00 device 78, VID=1069,
DID=5229
PCI_IDE: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
PCI_IDE: simplex device: DMA disabled
ide0: PCI_IDE Bus-Master DMA disables (BIOS)
PCI_IDE: simplex device: DMA diabled
ide1: PCI_IDE Bus_Master DMA disabled (BIOS)
hda: FUJITSU MPB3032ATU, ATA DISK drive
hdc: MATSHITA CR-585, ATAPI CDROM drive
ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7, 0x3f6 on irq 14

{then it hangs}

The suggestions I had were that it might be the UDMA 66 I disabled the
dma and still the problem. I have also tried the beta 6.9 Redhat, still
the same problem. Just so you know the BIOS is Award.

If you have any other suggestions I would love to hear them.

James Vellenga
