Well, 'up2date' worked well for quite some time, then, after installing
Helix gnome it stopped working:

[root@localhost /root]# up2date
Traceback (innermost last):
  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 155, in ?
    from gui import Gui
  File "/usr/share/up2date/gui.py", line 7, in ?
    from gtk import *
ImportError: No module named gtk

This has been going on for quite some time. In an effort to fix it, I
updated things I thought might help:

[root@localhost /root]# rpm -q python
python-1.5.2-7

[root@localhost /new_soft]# rpm -Uvh --test rpm-3.0.4-0.48.i386.rpm
[root@localhost /new_soft]# rpm -Uvh rpm-3.0.4-0.48.i386.rpm

[root@localhost /new_soft]# rpm -q rpm

[root@localhost /new_soft]# rpm -Uvh rpm-python-3.0.4-0.48.i386.rpm

[root@localhost /new_soft]# rpm -Uvh up2date-1.13-1.noarch.rpm
warning: /etc/up2date.conf created as /etc/up2date.conf.rpmnew

Still, I get the same error when using 'up2date'.

I even gave Helix a shot at a correction, and updated all suggested item
using the Helix update program. I still get the same gtk module error.

'Gimp' and all my desktop/graphical programs work.

So, why can't 'up2date' find what it needs.

Ideas?  Suggestions?

Thank you for your help.
