VaLinux have done a patch to the 2.2 kernel which print by syslog when a
duplicate IP is in use
So when you kickstart your RedHat with a custom bootnet.img with this
patch, a simple switch to the appropriate getty (tty5 ?) you could see
the message.
To extract the patch: download kernel-source*.src.rpm from
ftp.valinux.com, install it and in /usr/src/redhat/SRPMS you will see
all of the patch applyed on the 2.2.14 vanilla kernel by RedHat and VaLinux.
