well, I can't be sure how to interpret this but here goes: (unfortunately due to
lack of network connection to this box I have to retype):

Now the part that bugs me is the second entry - an old attempt which I think was
misbegotten, but isn't clearing out. The only entries showing in linuxconfig are
the first and the last...

So....

is that second entry messing me up? Can I clear it out with ifconfig? Does the
problem stem from those 0.0.0.0 gateways (I'm kind of thinking yes...)
