I'll admit.. a lot of people have negative things to say about my
contributions... BUT, keep in mind that this is a mailing list where
people come to get help and give help.
Do people actually ever read half of what I say? I doubt it... so I don't
see what the big deal is. By the time I get the mail to reply to
it.. there's like a stack of 200+ messages. I reply to something that's
submitted at 8am, and I get to it at 11:30pm. It's already been answered
15 times over.. correctly 10 times and vaguely/incorrectly the rest (for
example). Don't people usually ignore everything after they get their
needed answer? Therefore.. I'm sure no one really ever reads what I type.
How often do I get on my soapbox and go off on people? Right.. I don't, so
please don't go off on me.
I don't post anything to this list unless I feel it's at least
semi-relevant.
Now.. I've seen jokes posted to this list and no one says anything. What
gives? Double standards do not fly with me, to let you know... not when it
comes to what I'm getting blasted for.
Finally, for now: If you sit down.. read my replies.. and try my
suggestions out.. you'll see that it's pretty good info. It's the same
info that I live by. Funny.. I've been using computers since I was about 6
or 7... and programming for the last 5 years (using Linux over the past
4) and my computers, no matter what the setup, etc, have all run 10 times
better than most other peoples' machines that I've known.
I must be doing something right.
