Here is some more info on the network itself:

I have a 3com ISDN lanmodem that does NAT- it has an isdn "modem" and 4 port
hub built in.
My linux box is plugged into it. I had another linux box that was attached,
that worked fine.

Is that netgear card any good? Should it just "work" with the normal
install, or do I need to use
some boot: parameters for it? It is a PCI card.

TIA,

-jamie

Subject: Post Install configuration hang

I have been trying to install 6.2 on my HP Pavilion 8570c for 2 days now. I
am at my wits' end. I have put in a new network card (a Netgear FA-310-TX ,
which is supposedly "tier 1"), and yanked out all non-essential parts (the
soundcard & modem combo, and the other nic).

I have tried the anaconda fix, to no avail. So, I tried installing 6.1
instead. The install went fine- but it couldn't see the network.

I set the adapter to ip 192.168.1.2, w/a gw of 192.168.1.2, and a nm of
255.255.255.0. It can ping itself, but not the gw.

Help....
