Before you connect, open a console or xterm and type "tail -f
/var/log/messages" (without the quotes of course).  This will show you
what's going on as you attempt to connect.  If you can't figure out what
it all means, cut and paste the output into your next email to us.

And, yes, please, don't send email in html format.  I can't read or reply
to it without a lot of (too much) trouble.
