I used to use xfstt to fix this, but it won't build easily on RH7 so I did a little
reading. I knew that Xfree86-4 was supposed to support true type fonts on it's own
but I couln't find much on setting that up. By default I couldn't find any true type
fonts on the system. After more reading on the redhat web site I found a note about
setting up true type fonts. The basic deal is this from what I found and what mostly
worked for me; I copied a bunch of true type fonts into a directory -
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType/ - in my case. Then you create a file called
fonts.dir that contains the descriptions of the fonts. You put a line at the begining
of your XF86Config file pointing to the directory where the fonts are, then restart X.
You should then be able to see the fonts in your preferences in netscape.

I copied my fonts.dir file off the net. If you need to see it let me know I can send
it to you. The results are pretty good. I liked xfstt better but this does clean up
netscape.
