I am trying to set up my printer (canon bjc-250) on a machine with redhat
6.2 on it, but am having the problem of the text staircasing. e.g.

text
more text...
Is this is a fairly common problem, if so is there a simple solution to it?
I've looked at several sources, most of whom mention it, but do not get into
enough detail. I understand how to edit the printcap file and all that, but
I have become confused about filters. lpr has a few filter options, but
none of them seem to work...
