Hello:
Does anyone know the meaning of this kernel message?
kernel: eth0: setting RX mode to 0 addresses
then the next line says:
kernel: eth0: setting RX mode to 1 addresses.
This is /var/log/messages. At the same time I had problems with the four
machines on my dialup network recieving packets. I made some minor
adjustments. Really nothing major just playing with sysctl.conf settings and
several network restarts but to no avail. Only one of the my machines on my
lanned network would pull packets. I did a warm reboot and still had
problems. Only after I did a full shutdown, (power off) and reboot did I
finally bring it back to the way it was but still after the network starts I
see those kernel messages. Has anyone seen this before? I don't remember
ever seeing this in my /var/log/messages in the past. I have IP masquerade
running but only one machine could recieve the packets. This is on a RH 6.2
machine running as a dialup server for 2 windoze and 2 RH 6.0 machines.
Also I noticed some other wierd behavior. If I got this one machine to start
pulling packets then I could get another to start pulling very slowly. Very
wierd.
Thanks in Advance,
Eddie Strohmier
