Ah yes, I've used one of these with RH 6.2. The easiest way is to
get Linux preinstalled by Dell. Failing that, here are some notes
from Intel:

This was writting for XFree86 3.3.5, but the instructions are pretty much
on the mark for 3.3.6, too.
Note the i810 itself does not its own memory, but steals it from the main
system RAM. The flicker is pretty horrendous under fluorescent lights...
