You can also set up a caching nameserver on the linux box, and have the
windows machines use that as their name server.  That way, you don't have
to change anything on the windows boxes if your ISP changes name servers.
with this setup, you do not have to have the domain name set to your ISP -
you can have it set to what ever you call your local network.  As an added
bonus, you can set up a zone file for your local network so you can
resolve the names of the other machines.
