Your named.conf isn't still pointing to the default root file in
/var/named is it?  
If you used something like linuxconf to configure, the default
settings may still exist
somewhere.  Check in /etc/named.conf and see what it is pointing to,
then examine those files.  You may also check the DNS HOWTO, which is
availble everywhere fine linux products are documented, linux.org and
linuxdoc.org come imediatly to mind.
