When using Rh 6.2 there is a separate ipchains script run at boot. You set
the chains in /etc/sysconfig/ipchains. If you had used this you could start
the interactive boot up (assuming you didn't deactivate that), and cancel the
running of the ipchains script.
Now your easiest option probably is to boot using the installation CD, mount
the root filesystem and edit the rc.firewall from there.
When using dynamic interfaces the use of the ipchains (or the rc.firewall)
script is limited anyhow, because you probably set most of the chains in the
ifup scripts. But of course, loopback chains you would probably set in the
generel section (I do).
An idea to avoid these kind of problems in the future is to do a small second
installation, which you can use as a rescue system. This might be more handy
than using the installation CD. When doing this installation straight from the
CD you probably need a 150MB partition, but you could prepare the rescue
system on another machine, in which case you might need a far smaller
partition (<100MB).

                                        Bye,

                                        Leonard.
