Make sure the terminal type in your getty setup matches the actual
terminal type you are using. You will normaly get a clear screen
command before the loging screen, but if the terminal type is wrong,
then the screen will not clear. The clear command will also fail.
What terminal type to use, and how to specify it depends on the hardware
you are using and what flavor of getty you are using.
