Yes, true. But with the industry moving in the direction of "Legacy free"
boxes, one doesn't have much choice but to go for PCI or USB devices.

I mean...PCI is already overkill for a device that only transfers
data at a maximum rate of 53Kbps.

Isn't USB for a modem even more overkill?

I've never, yet, understood the need for USB or PCI modems...

Having said that, I haven't heard anything about USB modem support,
but one never knows.
