Well, since I'm well familiar with ticking off the wife because the
internet connection is down, I'll do my best.
First off, has this setup ever worked? Meaning have you been able in the
past to ping any of the other machines from the firewall? If not, then
you'll need to start looking at eth0. Is it up? do you get any error
messages when you bring it up?
If it has worked, have you made any changes to the ipchains rules
lately? I don't know much about how to write rules, I just use
pmfirewall to configure my firewall.
If none of those work, then I'm out of ideas. Maybe plug the internet
connection straight into your wife's pc to buy you a few more hours of
life.:)
