One of our servers has started grinding to a complete halt of a little perl script
that's sending out bulk emails. Or perl programmer doesn't think it's possible for the
script to be running away. I wonder if anyone has experience in trying to discover
just what exactly is bringing a system down. There's nothing in the log files that can
be used to pin point anything.
Also, in case it's a hardware problem: I've never had to debug hardware on Linux, and
I'm not sure how to go about it - any ideas? It's a co-located server so I can't get
to it physically - what's the best way to check hardware remotely?
Any advise would be appreciated,
